Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) is exploring a new blockchain move. The company plans to launch a utility token and its own digital wallet to boost its streaming service, Truth+.
TMTG’s CEO Devin Nunes shared the update in a recent letter to shareholders. He outlined a broader digital growth plan for the platform, including new features, subscription models, and ad-based services.
The company also aims to bring in fresh content. Plans include family-friendly shows, documentaries, and non-partisan news. A subscription tier with premium content is also under discussion.
One of the key ideas is a rewards program powered by a utility token. This token would first be used to pay for Truth+ subscriptions. Later, it could support other services within the Truth+ ecosystem. Specifics on the token’s design are yet to be shared.
This isn’t TMTG’s first step into crypto. In January, it announced a $250 million investment into blockchain projects through Truth.Fi. A month later, it revealed plans to offer Bitcoin ETFs and customized investment accounts.
Donald Trump himself continues to back crypto efforts. His company is building a $1 billion luxury hotel in Dubai that will accept crypto payments. He’s also hosting a private dinner on May 22 for top holders of the TRUMP meme coin.
As Trump stays active in the crypto space, TMTG’s strategy shows blockchain will play a key role in the platform’s future.
