Spider-Man actor Tom Holland fell victim to a hacking incident on his Twitter account, sparking concerns of a cryptocurrency scam. If you come across any posts from Holland promoting cryptocurrency or NFT programs, it’s best to avoid clicking on the links. The actor, known for his limited social media activity, has never previously endorsed such ventures.
Signs indicating the hack include the tweet’s solitary appearance on Holland’s account. It tagged the official Binance account without corresponding confirmation from Binance’s end. Additionally, there’s the absence of any mention on Holland’s Instagram page, which he typically uses for official announcements.
Someone reportedly removed the tweet promoting Spider-Verse NFTs. However, someone also altered Holland’s bio to include a link to the app, potentially endangering users who might click on it. Following the crypto solicitation, a subsequent post featuring an upside-down individual with a suggestive caption further hinted at the unauthorized access.
Similar hacks targeting celebrity Twitter accounts have become increasingly common, particularly among those with infrequent Twitter activity. Holland’s account, which had remained inactive since the summer of 2023 before the hack, underscores ongoing security concerns on the platform.
As a precaution, we advise users to refrain from engaging with any suspicious links associated with Holland’s account. The actor himself is not involved in cryptocurrency ventures or NFT sales.
